PBBANS Streaming Application submitted for BC2

I have submitted an application for PBBANS. Posting a "stickied" post stating my intentions is one of their cloak and dagger routine requirements.

I'm not certain I'm going to have the patience to jump through their hoops. The application process is a bit Barney Fife-ish in my opinion. I guess we'll see what their egos think of me criticizing them. :shrug:

My comments did ruffle some feathers, but they approved us anyway. Aren't they sooo nice. :lol: :wink:

We are now streaming...

We now have over 3000 bans in our ban file for various hacks (i.e. aimbots/multihacks, md5tool) as well as a few bans I have issued for racists and tker's.

8) pardon for the newbness, but does this mean that the bans will be the global punkbuster bans like on UO, or just permanent off the server?

It basically means that any pb bans for known hacks will be submitted to the pbbans master ban index. The same types of bans from other servers will be streamed to us within seconds of them being issued on other servers. You will see messages in the server notifying when a new ban has been received.

The bans we issue for racism, tking or general douchebaggery are local bans to our server only. These will not be sent to other servers.

They may be doing the work, but you are the one trying to keep those idiots out of the server by using them, to make the server fun and better enjoyment for those who dont need to hack to have fun. And I say thanks to you for that.
